GBE Beauty Within

I've sat here thinking long & hard about what to write on this subject & how I would interpret it. 

Then Oscar (my youngest son) came up to me before bed giving me a big hug & said "I love you mama, I hope you get well for tomorrow" bless him. He has been "Dr Oscar" today, looking after me whilst my body has given up. He laid next to me all day holding my hand telling me how much he loves me as I drifted in & out of sleep. 

That's what got me thinking about beauty. There's beauty in the kind words & actions we do or say to others. 

My son looking after me today was beautiful, mainly because it's normally "mum, mum, mum, I need/want/must have/can't wait/I'm hungry/I'm thirsty" kinda scenarios. So to have him saying nice things & not demanding my attention was blissful. He made me smile while I felt like utter shite, he gave me the biggest hugs to help me feel better & he didn't want me getting up. 

When we pass on compliments, say nice things, give someone a hug, squeeze their hand or even just give them a smile it will change their whole day. That's the beauty of kindness. We share a moment where all the world's crap is just not around us, it's just you & the person making a difference at that time. 

Beauty is within us all, we've just got to learn how to let it out more & use it in a good way. Even starting with ourselves, being kind to our mind, body & soul will help us bring that kind beauty to others.

    They are absolutely gorgeous, and you should be so proud of them. Especially Oscar, he is so kind-hearted and that was the sweetest thing for him to stay by you all day like that. I really miss my kids being that age and would go through it all again, just to have them to go through all those beautiful stages once more.

Loss GBE 1

Loss can mean so many different things to different people. Most people will conjure up a memory of a lost one...either a family member, a friend or even a beloved pet. It may strike up a memory of something that a person may have lost that either has value or sentimental value. It could even take you back to a time you lost your way on a journey or through life. Maybe you lost yourself.  For me, when I saw this prompt, it brought back 2 totally different memories at the same time which is quite odd but I can kinda see why they instantly popped into my mind.  I'm going to concentrate on the first memory that popped into my mind relating to how I had lost myself over the years. GBE Reunited

The familiar buzz on my wrist alerted me to a new notification. I looked at it and smiled. I began to read the message right there on my Fitbit and my pulse started to race, the smile spreading wider on my face.  I knew my answer straight away as I reached for my phone and opened the message fully.  It was all coming back to me in my mind - the days and nights spent writing and reading, forming amazing friendships around the written words on our blogs.
